Kriss Vector GBB
KRISS Vector GBB, manufactured by Krytac, is an officially licensed replica of one of the more unusual submachine guns developed in recent years. The firearm utilizes a "Super V" system, which, in tandem with an unconventional delayed blowback system, is designed to reduce the perceived recoil and muzzle climb during the shooting.
The original, first-generation firearm was designed in 2006, and a rework was made in 2007. The second generation was announced during the 2011 SHOT Show in Las Vegas. The difference is in the lower receiver construction intended for more straightforward caliber conversions. It is done via takedown pins that allow a quick swap between 9x19mm, .40S&W, and .45 ACP receivers.
The Super V system allows the bolt and an inertia block to move down into a recess behind the magazine. This, in theory, redirects the energy downward rather than backward, thus minimizing the recoil and muzzle climb. Another trademark of this system is that the barrel is placed in an axis with the shooter's shoulder and hand, further reducing the recoil.
Like the original firearm, the replica's body, stock, and majority of external elements are injection-molded from high-quality fiber-reinforced polymers. The outer barrel, Picatinny rail segments, charging handle, and other minor elements are cast, molded, or CNC-machined from metal. Both receivers are attached to an aluminum skeleton frame and feature a two-split construction, allowing easy access to the product's internals.
The lower receiver is integrated with the magwell and mock recoil mitigating system found in the original firearm. The space provided by the latter is used to hold the elements of the replica's internal gas mechanisms.
The integrated handguard allows customization of the replica thanks to Picatinny rails at the top, bottom, and sides. The side rail is detachable and can be swapped for the left or right side of the receiver. This enables users to configure the Vector to their preferences and/or game requirements.
The upper receiver is coupled with a fixed pistol grip, right-side folding stock, and a single long Picatinny rail. Ambidextrous safety levers and fire mode selectors are placed for both right- and left-handed users.
The right-side folding stock is comfortable to use. The stock pad is moved downwards, providing adequate comfort for such a compact design while aiming down the sights.
The heart of the replica is a custom GBB mechanism with a lightweight bolt assembly generating around 335 FPS / 1J using the 0.20g BBs. The replica shoots in semi-automatic, burst, and full-automatic modes. The safety levers and selectors are placed on both sides of the body, making it a good choice for ambidextrous users. The outer barrel holds the 120mm inner barrel.
KRISS Vector implements a robust gas blowback system that imitates recoil and mechanical action during firing. It provides an exceptional and realistic user experience, like shooting an authentic weapon. Using lightweight elements leads to a faster rate of fire and improved gas efficiency.
Thanks to its compact size and optimal performance, KRISS Vector GBB is a perfect choice for players looking for a replica for CQB, close- and mid-range engagements in the arenas or fields with a futuristic vibe and unusual looks.
